What is Oil Cleansing?
Oil Cleansing uses a specific combination of natural oils to dissolve oil (hardened sebum), make-up, and dirt trapped deep inside the pores of the skin. This process is able to pull out and remove dead skin cells, bacteria and other undesirables, while delivering nutrients and enhancing the texture and overall health of the skin. Oil Cleansing is also an extremely effective method to remove makeup and sunscreen. It also works wonderfully for all skin types, as well as for those with acne.
Oil Cleansing is based on the chemistry based principle that “like dissolves like” – known as The Dissolution Theory. To say it another way “oil dissolves oil” or “water cannot dissolve oil”. This basically means that clean oils dissolve dirty oils in the skin. This theory also explains why many 'oil-free' water chemical based cleansers are not effective at removing oil, dirt, makeup or sunscreen from the skin, and are also unable to deeply cleanse.
Oil Cleansing has been used by ancient beauties for thousands of years, so don't be afraid of applying oil to your face. Our Oil Cleanser is specifically designed for your skin type; ie. dry, combination or oily. We structure the oils in our cleanser specifically in relation to your skin's individual and specific needs.
Directions for Use: Pour a dime-sized amount our Oil Cleanser into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and apply to dry facial skin using gentle circular motions. Complete this process for 1-2 minutes. Our Oil Cleanser may also be used to remove eye make-up. Next, run a wash cloth under hot (but tolerable) water, quickly wringing it out, and then apply it to your face. Let the moist, hot steam work to gently open up the pores of your face allowing for our cleanser to begin loosing and removing any dirt, debris, and impurities trapped deep below. Hold the cloth in place for approximately 10 seconds, and then wipe your face clean. Finish by blotting your skin dry. Basically the whole process for the oil cleansing method can be summed in this simple single sentence direction: Oil your dry face, rub it in, steam and gently wipe it off.
A clean fresh cloth must be used every time you cleanse. This is because whatever impurities have been removed from your face are now trapped inside the cloth.
